Job Description

• Master's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Operations Research, Physics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or similar quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python, S-Plus, SAS, or similar).
• Internship or work experience with data. Experience in quantitative methodologies with statistics and causal inference method.



What does Data Scientist do?

A Data Scientist analyzes large sets of data to extract valuable insights, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. They use statistical methods, machine learning, and programming skills to clean, process, and model data. Their goal is to solve complex problems, optimize business processes, and guide strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex, large-scale data sets, tackle challenging non-routine problems, and apply advanced analytical techniques as needed. This includes data collection, defining requirements, processing, analysis, continuous deliverables, and presenting findings.
• Provide business insights and recommendations (e.g., cost-benefit analysis, forecasting, experimental analysis), presenting results effectively to stakeholders at all levels through visual representations of data.
• Conduct research and develop forecasting and optimization techniques to enhance the quality of Google's user-facing products, such as ad quality, search functionality, user behavior modeling, and live experiments.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to propose and support the development of innovative, data-driven, and privacy-conscious advertising and marketing solutions.
• Leverage large-scale experimentation, econometric analysis, machine learning, and social science methodologies to address business challenges and answer critical questions at scale.
